Speaking recently with Dagobah Dispatch, Kathleen Kennedy discussed a potential future for Indiana Jones. Not the character as played by Harrison Ford; his journey ends with next months Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, but the world of Indiana Jones may see some further exploration, potentially in a return to television after over 30 years in a Disney Plus TV series.

“It’s Harrison’s last entry. That’s how we look at the Indy franchise. I mean, truthfully, right now, if we were to do anything, it might be in series television down the road, but we’re not doing anything to replace Indiana Jones. This is it.”

“There are five movies that Harrison Ford did. And Harrison is so specific and so unique to creating this role. We just, Steven [Spielberg] agrees, we just wouldn’t do that.”

There are rumours galore swirling around the interwebs. An Abner Ravenwood series is often mentioned, and with his recent awards sweep Ke Huy Quan in a series seeing the return of Short Round would certainly be a fan-favourite, but whatever the choice a return to the world of Indiana Jones (albeit one without Henry Jones Jr featuring prominently in it, unless he makes the occassional ‘Luke Skywalker in the Mandoverse’ style appearance) would be most welcome.
