It may not have much connective tissue to the Star Wars saga, other than being produced by Amblin, headed up at the time by the uber-production trio of Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall and Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, but the forthcoming animated prequel Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai certainly does, adding Fennec Shand actress Ming-Na Wen to it’s vocal cast along with Jurassic Park series stalwart B. D. Wong.

Set in 1920s Shanghai, the series boasts a cast that includes Ming-Na Wen (“Agent’s of S.H.I.E.L.D,” “The Mandalorian,” “Mulan”), BD Wong (“Mr. Robot,” “Jurassic World”) and James Hong (“Big Trouble in Little China,” “Blade Runner,” “Mulan”). In addition, Matthew Rhys (“The Americans,” “Perry Mason”), has been tapped to voice the half-hour show’s villain.

Let’s hope, after the super fun Gremlins 2: The New Batch back in 1990 we finally get a third entry in the series and see what’s been happening to Billy, Kate and Gizmo over the past 30 years.
