Legendary ILM model maker Ira Keeler has passed away. With an extentive CV covering a golden age of movie making, Keelers career spanned the final chapter of the original trilogy Return of the Jedi right thorugh to the first entry in the prequel trilogy The Phantom Menace and encompassed work on Back to the Future, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade, Inner Space, Men in Black, Jurassic Park and Star Trek: First Contact. He even appeared in the original Star Tours as a crew member

Most recently Keeler was interviewed for Star Wars Insider #200, discussing his career with Michael Kogge.

A name familiar to Lucasfilm fans everywhere, we would like to pass on our condolences to Ira’s wife Joy, his family, friends and colleagues.
