Star Wars 50: The original is back in theaters in 2027

Returning in its pre-A New Hope, pre-CGI Jabba, pre-Maclunky form, the original Star WarsTHE original Star Wars – will be back in theaters worldwide on 19th February 2027 (that’s in just 440 days time) for a limited time allowing fans of every vintage the opportunity to experience the film that almost 50 years before quite literally changed the world of cinema, forever. Newly restored, we can expect this version to be pin-sharp and fresh, giving us as close to what audiences in 1977 got as possible.

On February 19, 2027, we’ll celebrate the 50th anniversary of Star Wars with a re-release of the 1977 original back for a limited time, in theaters everywhere.

Part of Lucasfilm’s yearlong 50th anniversary celebration, a newly restored version of the classic Star Wars (1977) theatrical release — later renamed Star Wars: A New Hope — will play in theaters for a limited time.
