No it wasn’t AI and yes, this really happened earlier today. Fans in the States quickly mobilised, printed a banner saying ‘Save #The Hunt For Ben Solo‘, hired a plane and flew it over Disney HQ in Burbank, garnering plenty of attention and putting the project (which was torpedoed before it ever truly took off) very much in the eyes of the public.

In the latest twist following Adam Driver’s shocking revelation about his canceled Star Wars sequel, fans have taken matters into their own hands — literally flying a plane over Disney Studios with a banner reading: “Save The Hunt for Ben Solo.” Collider’s Aidan Kelley was reporting live from the scene when the plane cruised overhead.

The bold stunt, which drew lots of attention (and plenty of camera phones) from onlookers in Burbank this morning, was organized by a small but passionate group of fans furious that Disney scrapped the proposed sequel. Their message was aimed squarely at Bob Iger and Alan Bergman, the Disney executives who — according to Driver — shut down the project despite enthusiasm from Lucasfilm.

We discuss this fascinating could-be project on tonights episode of Making Tracks, which you can listen to below.
