Last night saw the World Premiere of The Mandalorian and Grogu take place in Los Angeles, a star-stuffed event that brought celebrities and fans together to mingle and celebrate the return of the galaxy far, far away back to where it belongs – the big screen. Check out some of the official accounts to get a flavour of what happened on the red carpet.

Once inside the theater, director Jon Favreau had a few words for the expectant audience.

First Reactions are in, and as is often the case it’s a mixed bag, from excitement at the return of the saga to the big screen to concerns the film doesn’t manage to escape the potential shackles of its streaming TV origins. Here’s some of the views that Variety and The Hollywood Reporter collated, and be sure to check back here next Tuesday for Making Tracks Reaction Chat (replete with new intro music) where myself and Mark Mulcaster shall give our spoiler-free views on the movie, followed by our full review later in the week, Sander’s Guide to the film, our group review and Brian and Paul discussing the first Star Wars film in almost seven years on Good Morning Tatooine.
