TODAY IN STAR WARS HISTORY: 12/23/1977

A special Star Wars holiday ad is placed in local U.S. newspapers
to promote the ongoing release of the film. The ad read, “Happy Holidays and may the Force be with you throughout the new year.”

A season’s greeting was included from nine characters including Darth Vader, C-3PO, Chewbacca, R2-D2, Luke Skywalker, Ben Kenobi, Grand Moff Tarkin, Han Solo, and Princess Leia.
