There’s a new mini-set in town, and it’s heading our way on 20th November 2026 for Star wars: Unlimited. We’re talking Star Wars: Unlimited Icons, the new entry-level “mini-set” from Fantasy Flight Games that will bring rare and legendary cards to a 194 card set designed for new players and veterans alike.
Asmodee has unveiled Star Wars™: Unlimited Icons – the latest addition to the Star Wars™: Unlimited TCG series during a successful UK Games Expo appearance this weekend. The new mini-set is designed as an entry point offering for first-time and returning players, while still bringing exciting new cards and fan-favourite characters for seasoned gamers.
Going strong for over two years, Star Wars™: Unlimited is getting bigger and better, with Icons stepping in as the fourth release in the game’s annual cycle following A Lawless Time, released in March, and ahead of Ashes of the Empire, scheduled for July 2026.
For newcomers to Star Wars™: Unlimited, or players returning after a break, knowing where to start can feel daunting. Icons makes that jump-in (or jump-back-in) moment simpler, with a streamlined 194-card ‘mini-set’ compared to 250+ cards in a standard version and a focus on instantly recognisable characters and accessible gameplay. Better yet, Icons doesn’t introduce extra set-specific mechanics that players need to learn first – it places Star Wars™: Unlimited fundamentals at the heart of the game and delivers a set built to be approachable, collectable, and entertaining right out of the pack.
The ‘mini-set’ combines familiar favourites with new chase cards, especially Rares and Legendaries. Key features of Star Wars™: Unlimited Icons include:
Eight all-new Leaders, including Darth Vader, a Vigilance and Villainy leader, and Leia Organa, a Cunning and Heroism leader
Commons: all Common-rarity cards are reprints from earlier Star Wars™: Unlimited sets, with new artwork on a selection of returning cards
Uncommons: A mix of reprints from previous sets, returning Uncommon cards with new artwork – including Grogu and Savage Opress – and brand-new Uncommons
All Rares and Legendaries are new to the game, with each Rare and Legendary card a unique unit featuring a fan-favourite Star Wars character. Rare highlights include Darth Sidious, Lando Calrissian, and the Millennium Falcon
Iconic character moments include the returning C-3PO, the brand-new Jar Jar Binks, and moreTo add to the hype, Icons will introduce a brand-new Legendary card, revealed for the first time today: Anakin Skywalker. A hard-hitting unit, Anakin can search decks for a Darth Vader card upon defeat and lets players ignore aspect penalties on Darth Vader cards while Anakin is in players’ discard piles.
Roger Martin, Marketing Director at asmodee said: “We’re thrilled to reveal Icons at this year’s UK Games Expo! Star Wars™: Unlimited is at its best when you’re sat around a table and getting straight into gameplay. But if you’re brand new or coming back after a break, it can be a little tricky knowing where to start – and that’s where Icons breaks down that barrier. We can’t wait for fans, both old and new, to get their hands on the set and show the community what they’re made of.”
Cards from Icons will be Premier-legal until rotation alongside Star Wars™: Unlimited A Lawless Time released in March 2026 and Star Wars™: Unlimited Ashes of the Empire, set for release in July 2026.
Star Wars™: Unlimited Icons will be available this year.
