This past weekend saw the 20th running of UK Games Expo, a show that Fantha Tracks have covered and attended a number of times, reaching right back to 2008 when we headed to the events then home, the Clarendon Suites on Hagley Road in Birmingham. Back then the attendence was a few hundred visitors – impressive for a new show, but move on almost two decades and while the show has retained its identity and uniqueness, the numbers passing through the doors have swelled to incredible proportions, The 2026 show saw 87,837 people attend the show across the three days, occupying five halls of the National Exhibition Centre and reminding people – as if they didn’t already know – that UK Games Expo is a very big deal indeed.

This year Mark and Matt Booker attended the show, with Mark there on the Saturday and Matt on the Sunday. As always the focus was on the Star Wars related items at the show, most of which were located in Halls 3 and 3A, with the Saturday night seeing a major announcement as the new TCG release Star Wars Unlimited Icons was announced, allowing Fantha Tracks to be among the first in the world to see details of the set and let fans know about this exciting new version of the hit game.
