Indiana Jones and the Infernal Machine has recently been made available on the popular digital distribution platform GOG. Initially released in 1999 for the PC, N64 and the Game Boy Color market it broadly received favourable reviews.
It was criticised for being too similar to the Tomb Raider series, which is ironic as Indiana Jones directly influenced that franchise, and for not using Harrison’s Ford voice for Indy! Set 9 years after Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Indiana’s mission is to find the 4 pieces of the Infernal Machine which was an ancient Babylonian portal to another dimension.
The year is 1947. The Nazis have been crushed, the Cold War has begun and Soviet agents are sniffing around the ruins of the fabled Tower of Babel. What are they up to? The CIA recruits renowned archaeologist and adventurer, Dr. Henry “Indiana” Jones, to find out. Grab your whip and fedora and join Indy in an epic globe-spanning race in search of the mysterious “Infernal Machine.”
For just £4.69 it is excellent value for money and still holds up pretty well to this day. As a side note you may not be aware that Drew Struzan designed the amazing cover shown above.
