It’s one of the most commonly asked questions in Star Wars fandom right now; will there be a fourth season of The Mandalorian, or does The Mandalorian & Grogu replace that fourth season. Speaking with Empire Magazine, Jon Favreau discusses the film and touches on that ‘lost’ fourth season.

“We were planning on doing a fourth season. I had actually written all of that. I still have Season 4 sitting on my desk here.”

We (Fantha Tracks, Future of the Force and Jedi News in a face-to-face roundtable ahead of the third season) had the good fortune to chat with Favreau back in 2023.

The structure of the movie steers away from the usual structure of a TV show, denoting a change to what that story of the fourth season might have been.

“It’s structured around a movie structure, as opposed to a serialized weekly television show. So there’s a larger throw to the whole thing.”

Could there be a future for a fourth season? Let us know what you think on our socials and we’ll discuss on a future episode of Making Tracks.
