Following it’s inevitable, pandemic hit development, we finally got some news on the hotly anticipated release of the latest video game in the LEGO Star Wars line during the Gamescom Opening Night Live event on August 25th, entitled ‘The Skywalker Saga’.

A new trailer was revealed featuring some gameplay footage, and fans of the game franchise will not be disappointed as it shows many of the things we’ve come to love over the years – including the humour. The trailer ends with the news that the game is set to launch in ‘Spring 2022’ – which we’re hoping is March/April time – and it will be available on Xbox One series, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The trailer shows a variety of gameplay modes incorporating space battles where you are in control of iconic ships such as the Millennium Falcon and Obi-Wan’s Jedi Starfighter, and have first-person battle with lightsabers and blasters, plus no doubt the usual puzzles that have made the LEGO gaming franchise such a hit with fans of all ages.

As well as the ‘story mode’ featuring all nine Episodes of the core saga, you can travel through hyperspace to unlockable planets (including Ajan Kloss, Coruscant and many more) and unlock and play as over 300 characters – imagine how much collecting those in real-life would cost!!!

LEGO Star Wars games have always been true to the stories and the epic moments from the franchise are all here and contribute to this being the biggest game yet released under the LEGO banner.

Maybe the Easter Bunny will bring you something other than chocolate in 2022!!!
