So, the million credit question: would Liam Neeson relish a return to the character of Qui-Gon Jinn in a future Star Wars project? It would appear so…providing that appearance was on the big screen.

“Oh, I think so, yeah, yeah, yeah, I think so … if it was a film. Yeah, I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to TV, I must admit, I just like the big screen, you know?

Neeson also cast his mind back to the late 90’s and the making of Episode I.

Qui-Gon, I can’t believe it’s 24 years since we made The Phantom Menace, I just cannot believe where the time has gone. It was a terrific experience, shooting that film in London.”

Bear in mind, with Obi-Wan Kenobi just around the corner and his recent appearance in season 3 of Derry Girls which co-stars General Dodonna actor Ian McElhinney, he could be (to steal a phrase from The Last Jedi) ‘tooling’ with us. Only time will tell, but clearly he is open to the idea of a return of some sort.
