t’s only take 40 years but the Oxford English Dictionary has added some famous Star Wars terms to their repertoire. Listed in this article from the Oxford Mail are the words Jedi, Lightsabre and Padawan, added to the OED this month. Already in the OED are The Force and Jedi Mind Trick.

It’s interesting that they have opted for spelling Lightsaber ending in ‘re’ (the English spelling that was seen commonly in UK Star Wars literature in the 70’s) rather than the most common American spelling of ‘er’.

Along with the Star Wars updates are a plethora of others, some of which certainly raised my eyebrow!
