Christopher McQuarrie, the director of this months Mission Impossible: Fallout shared a tribute to the legendary host of The Twilight Zone Rod Serling on the anniversary of his death, a tribute which kicked off an unexpected chain of replies.

One user replied to the filmmaker by claiming the “Social Justice Warrior” agenda should be removed from fiction, which inspired The Last Jedi writer/director Rian Johnson to chime in, resulting in a lengthy, and angry, exchange between a variety of users.
This resulted in the following response from McQuarrie

Despite both directors being asked to be removed from the conversation which carried on, McQuarrie then declared he was “out” from other genre.
