Along with the news that four new actors have been confirmed for the 2021 Cassian Andor TV series in Stellan Skarsgård, Kyle Soller, Genevieve O’Reilly and Denise Gough we also learn that Rogue One‘s Tony Gilroy will be stepping in as showrunner of the series.
Also of note is the news that he will be joined by his brother Dan, the Oscar-nominated writer of Nightcrawler, and Beau Willimon who led the Netflix remake of the British TV series House of Cards for four seasons. With Tony Gilroy himself Oscar nominated for Michael Clayton which starred George Clooney, Tom Wilkinson, Tilda Swinton, and Sydney Pollack it seems the show is building a high-quality team to bring the 5 years between the start of the show and the events of Rogue One to the screen.
