I have been a fan of Star Wars since the beginning. I spent more or less my whole time at primary school in Northern Ireland playing Star Wars, watching Star Wars, collecting Star Wars action figures, dreaming of Star Wars, talking about Star Wars… I think you get the picture.
After RotJ, Star Wars disappeared for a while but I continued to watch the films over and over. Then one day, I was in a comic shop in Southampton where I was studying and there on the shelves was a new Star Wars novel. Heir to Empire was the book that really kicked my fandom back into high gear. Soon there was talk of Special Editions, video games, more books and, best of all, new movies! My faith had been rewarded, I was in SW-fan heaven!
These days, I read every novel that is published and I am one of the detail-obsessed crazies who make up the 501st Legion. I costume as Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, an Airborne Clone and a Biker Scout. I love that my love for Star Wars can be turned into something that helps others and brings so much joy to so many.
Star Wars has been with me for 40 years. I can’t wait to see what the next 40 have to offer.
