In an article that omits to acknowledge the onscreen and very clear death of the character of General Hux at the hand of Allegiant General Pryde, The Wrap spoke with actor Domhnall Gleeson and ask whether or not his character could return in a future Star Wars project, presumably set before said death.

“Of course I would! He was really interesting, and I think there’s a lot I could do more [with him].”

“I don’t see them making the call. I’m not sure anybody’s clamoring for a Hux sequel or prequel. But yeah, of course. Those movies are amazing.”

We now live in an era when Diego Luna can return 6 years after Rogue One to play the same character 5 years before the events of the film, so a prequel to The Rise of Skywalker isn’t beyond the bounds of possibility, nor are flashbacks. With D23, Disney Plus Day and New York Comic Con on the way, only time will tell.

To hear more from Domhnall discussing Hux, watch our On the blue carpet at the European Premiere video at The Rise of Skywalker premiere back in 2019 where we spoke to Domhnall, Joonas Suotamo, Shirley Henderson and more.
