Via the never-ending gift that is Amazon, we learn the name of one of the most prominent worlds in Solo: A Star Wars Story, the second standalone film that is now just 61 days away.

The ice planet where we see our heroes try and hijack a train is the world of Vandor, and this brief but very to the point description of the book on Amazon spells it out.

Han Solo and Chewbacca the Wookiee must team-up for a daring train heist on the planet Vandor!

While some folks had speculated that this might be Hoth, it appears that Solo is going to take us to new worlds across the galaxy. We may not yet know where Vandor is, but Kessel, Mimban and Corellia are already clearly marked out on the existing galaxy map.

Kessel sits in Hutt Space, far out in the Outer Rim Territories in the Kessel sector and is connected to the rest of the galaxy by the Pabol Sleheyron upon which it sits and the Kessel Run itself.

With Honoghr in the same sector, and the Imperial facility of Eadu close by (which I wrote about in my StarWars.com article Where in the galaxy are the worlds of Rogue One?) Kessel is surrounded by all the trappings of the underworld and as such attracts all manner of questionable characters.

Meanwhile, Mimban lies in the Expansion Region, on the hyperspace route between Nanth’ri in the Mid Rim and Gyndine, the nearest neighbour of Mimban.

The original bog planet, Mimban was first seen in Splinter of the Minds Eye, resurfaced in season one of The Clone Wars in the episode Rookies, was replaced by Jedha in Rogue One and finally makes the step up to live action in Solo

Corellia is in an altogether more fashionable area of the galaxy, lying as it does in the Core Worlds. Sitting at the junction of the Corellian Run and the Corellian Trade Spine, Duro is just south on the Corellian Trade Spine, which winds its way done to the border of the Colonies where the ill-fated Hosnian system sits.

The shipyards at Rendili sits to the north-east while the influential world of Cato Neimoidia is nearby and across the border in the Colonies. If a significant portion of the film takes place in this area of the galaxy, we could potentially be seeing some familiar species and locations, if not in the film then in the ancillary novels and comics

Where Vandor lies we don’t yet know, but it will be fascinating to discover as so far a good chunk of the action appears to be taking place in the more questionable regions of the galaxy, be it Outer Rim, Expansion or Core Worlds.
