We’re all excited for the arrival next week of Maul – Shadow Lord, and ahead of its debut on Disney Plus on 6th April we learn today that Lucasfilm President Dave Filoni has revealed that the show has already been confirmed to return for a second season, meaning the Emperor’s former apprentice shall be battling in the underworld during the 50th anniversary of the saga.

Ahead of the series premiere, creator and executive producer Dave Filoni has announced the continuation of Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord with confirmation of Season 2 in the works from Lucasfilm Animation. Season 1 debuts on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on Monday.

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord presents fans with a pulpy adventure that finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire. There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who may just be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge.

We’re piling on the Maul – Shadow Lord coverage here on the site, and later this evening you’ll be able to hear Fantha Tracks on a virtual roundtable on two episodes of Making Tracks, first with actors Sam Witwer and Gideon Adlon, and a second episode with producers Matt Michnovetz, Brad Rau and Athena Portillo.
