BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.

Chapter10– The Dark Lord

Official summary: One last test, one last chance to escape and survive.

Trivia

To add to Darth Vader’s sinister and horror-inspired appearance, he does not talk at all throughout the episode.

This is the first time that Maul and Darth Vader fight in canon. In Legends their most famous duel was in the story “Resurrection” from the non-canon Star Wars Tales #9.

The slide of the Lawsons, Two-Boots and Vario was an homage to Romancing The Stone.

Dryden Vos’ shuttle is newly created for the series and so far has not a name or class attached to it.

The shuttle’s pilot is voiced by Marrok voice actor AJ LoCascio.

The very big gun, as Vario refers it to, is different, yet similar to the cannon similar to the E-Web heavy repeating blaster from The Empire Strikes Back.

While previously we saw a Rho-class transport shuttle, Darth Vader and his forces travel in the classic Lambda-class T-4a shuttle from Return of the Jedi.

Vario’s insult to distract the troopers, “Over here, you moof-milking laser brains!“, combines Leia’s insult to Han from The Empire Strikes Back with Han’s insult from The Force Awakens.

Lawson is seen with the big gun rushing stormtroopers to save his son. This reminded me of how Baze Malbus in Rogue One also sacrificed himself this way.

The shot of Darth Vader watching the ship leave is framed the same way as in as Maul seeing the Queen’s Royal Starship leave Tatooine in The Phantom Menace. This is the second time this series uses this framing, it was previously used in Chapter 7.

Recurring musical cues heard throughout the episode:
* “Duel Of The Fates” during the opening title.
* “Imperial March” heard during the Maul versus Darth Vader fight.
* “Battle Of The Heroes”, when the LAAT gunship settles down.
* When Daki is killed and Devon shouts in anger, you here a cue reminiscent of the theme heard when Anakin gets up and starts killing the Tusken Raiders in Attack Of The Clones. Which is fitting as this is when Devon truly lets the dark side in, just like Anakin did.

Be sure to check back for our guide to The Mandalorian and Grogu later in the month.
