BEWARE SPOILERS: Just like with the previous Disney Plus series, we at Fantha Tracks will be offering our own episode guide for your entertainment! Here we will post every reference, Easter egg, everything named and unnamed per episode and some fun trivia in-between that we have spotted.

Chapter 7 – Call to the Oblivion

Official summary: As enemies close in, Maul is forced to make a stand.

Trivia

The Aurebesh seen next to Master Daki and Lawson as they peek out from their hiding place reads “Store Closed”. The other one behind them just repeats the word “Closed” twice.

Maul and Devon talk about who his master was and his deep cut betrayal. This all refers back to Sidious casting Maul aside in the Siege Of Mandalore arc in The Clone Wars. While Maul does not tell her what this deepest wound is that has been inflicted upon him, the next episode makes pretty clear what that is.

As mentioned earlier, Janix City takes some visual cues from Gotham, which makes Marrok perching on a high building overlooking the city very reminiscent of what Batman is often seen to be doing as well.

The Aurebesh in the probe droid’s point of view shot reads “Playback”.

We have heard Rebel Scum often, but its counterpart Imperial Scum, as Spybot says in this episode, is more rare to hear in the movies or series. It was heard in Rebels 3×16 “Through Imperial Eyes” however.

The stormtrooper who captures Rylee is voiced by Steve Blum. His white shoulder pauldron makes him a sergeant.

As the LAAT flies off with Rylee, and Devon watching it happen, the shot is framed in an almost identical way as Maul seeing the Queen’s Royal Starship leave Tatooine in The Phantom Menace.

That’s a Phi-class shuttle in which the Eleventh Brother arrives. It was first seen in Obi-Wan Kenobi and also appears in Tales Of The Empire. It could be that it is the Scythe, again from Obi-Wan Kenobi, but that has yet to be confirmed.

The Eleventh Brother was created for Tales Of The Jedi, in which he was killed by Ahsoka, so this episode takes place before that series.

And while this is not confirmed, the design of the bird-like mask of the Eleventh Brother could have come from the original design of Boba Fett’s armor’s shoulder symbol. Early prototypes, and even the suit that was worn during the famous first appearance in the 1978 San Anselmo Country Fair and Parade, had a bird-like design rather than the mythosaur symbol on it.

Lawson admits to Daki as having worked with a Jedi before. While that is a story left to be told, it at least explains why he is somewhat familiar with lightsabers, even if he refers to it as a laser sword in the first episode. But then again, even Lucas does use that term in interviews and it has slipped into movies before like The Phantom Menace.

Known to us thanks to the official site’s databank, but this is the first time in the episodes that Two-Boots is referred to by its actual alphanumeric designation of 2B0T

Two-Boots’s surprise of Rylee recognizing him without his boots must be a joke playing on the line of C-3PO in The Force Awakens. There the protocol droid thought that Han would not recognize him due to his new red arm.

It is unclear who the Mandalorian is that the subtitles refer to as commando and if he is the same as the one seen in Chapter 5. The End Credits mention even that there were two Commandos voiced in this episode. A.J LoCascio was Commando #1 and Christopher Swindle was Commando #2. Swindle was the only one credited for the commando appearing in Chapter 5.

During the fight Scorn is cut down by the Eleventh Brother while Icarus watches. This is an intentional mimic to how Maul saw Savage being cut down in The Clone Wars episode “The Lawless“.

Another mimic occurs when Looti rolls under a barely closed door. This is of course something we saw Indiana Jones do multiple times in his movies.

An homage to Ernest Borgnine’s work in both Escape from New York and The Black Hole was made with Rook Kast saying the line “Kebris, you slime!”.

The End Credits reveals that once again Sam Witwer had another role in the episode, this time as the gunship pilot.
