Speaking during the investors presentation of last week’s Disney Investors Day, Ewan McGregor and director Deborah Chow briefly touched upon their forthcoming special event series, now officially titled Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi.

“There’s a hunger for this character to come back. The fans have been waiting long enough, you know? We start on Tatooine, and we go on a rollicking adventure.”

And his return as Kenobi is matched up with another huge return, that of his prequel co-star Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader.

“The most beautiful thing of all is that it’s brought me back together with Hayden. It’ll be amazing to bring those characters back together again, very unexpectedly.”

He’s not wrong when he talks of the hunger for the characters return, and Chow broached that return.

“We couldn’t tell the story of Obi-Wan Kenobi without addressing Anakin or Vader.”

There’s little doubt the return of Obi-Wan is going to be captivating for viewers around the world, and we’ll be following every step right here on the site and discussing Kenobi and more on the next episode of Making Tracks, out this coming Friday.
