Simon Pegg reveals The Last Jedi potentially changed the course of Rey’s parentage

Todays episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast welcomes Trek Wars alumni Simon Pegg, who chats about his involvement in both galaxy’s and drops a huge bit of information regarding the originally planned direction of Daisy Ridley’s Rey, which appears to have been somewhat altered by Rian Johnson in The Last Jedi.

It’s worth remembering, nothing is immutable. Rey only knows what she saw in the cave on Ahch-To, which at that point had no reason to reveal any homes truths to her, and by the words of Kylo Ren, who at this point is a less than reliable source of information. It could well be that J.J’s original plans come to fruition in Episode 9.
