This year the Peter Mayhew Foundation has had to find ways to innovate in a constantly changing world. Before the pandemic we worked very closely with the 501st and Rebel legion to deliver toys to children’s hospitals, we had local teams of volunteers that could help with disaster relief, we were able to do outreach at comic conventions and assist with other non-profit efforts. In the face of those doors closing, we’ve shifted to shipping toys directly to hospitals and building the infrastructure to do as much good as possible now that the world is starting to open back up.
With all that in mind, our new coin has an image of Peter in the cockpit and highlights our toy deliveries that have been the temporary solution to in-person hospital visits. The artwork for the coin was created by Kate Dehay, Peter’s daughter. It is also a very special year for our friends and family over at Lucasfilm. So, in honor of 50 years of Lucasfilm imagination, we’ve created a special edge text on the coin to tell the LFL story from their humble beginnings all the way to the present.
LIMITED EDITION VARIANT COIN
For every $15 donation made to the Peter Mayhew Foundation, you will receive one (1) challenge coin made with a polished gold face. For every 5 coins ordered ($75 donation made to the Peter Mayhew Foundation), you will receive five (5) coins; Four (4) of the limited edition polished gold coins and one (1) limited edition brushed silver coin (see image above).
The gold coins will be individually numbered and will be limited & the silver coins will be individually numbered and limited.
Shipping for this Benefit Coin is set to begin in July, please allow 6-8 weeks after shipping begins to receive your coin.
