With the character so heavy in the news – to be fair, when hasn’t he been? – it would be remiss of us to not note the occasion, when Boba Fett made his first ever public appearance at the San Anselmo Country Fair Day and Parade on Sunday 24th September 1978.

Just a couple of months later, Fett would steal The Star Wars Holiday Special in the animated segment ‘The Story of the Faithful Wookiee‘ and 1979 would see Fett become the very first mail-away figure, offered initially as the infamous rocket-firing Boba Fett.

His legend had begun, and all of this before his big screen debut in The Empire Strikes Back in May 1980.
