Walt Disney World Info take a look at some changes to the annual pass restrictions at Disneyland, which could relate to the opening of Galaxy’s Edge and access to the park.
“As our business evolves, this is the first step in reshaping our Annual Pass program, which will better manage the guest experience and allow all Disneyland Resort visitors to have a great visit, particularly as we look forward to the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in summer 2019.”
To allow guests to better plan around the new system, Disneyland has extended the calendars to 13 months, displaying dates as far out as June 2019, when the park-specific dates officially begin. Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is set to open in the summer of 2019, and theses dates could hint at a more specific time frame for the new land’s debut.
The changes primarily affect Deluxe annual passport dates, leaving Signature passholders unaffected; for the month of June 2019, Deluxe passholders will be blocked out of Disneyland Park Fridays through Sundays, as well as the entire last week of the month. This gives Deluxe passholders a total of 13 days with both parks available and 17 days where only Disney’s California Adventure is an option. Compare that to this June, when guests had admission to both parks for 25 out of 30 days. Southern California passholders will have 20 days open at California Adventure only, and Southern California Select passholders will have a total of 3 days at California Adventure only for the month.
Quite how this will relate to Galaxy’s Edge and access to the new attraction is uncertain at the moment, but stay tuned as we dig into this further.
