After the recent garrison elections, congratulations go out to Michael Cullen who has been voted in as the new Commanding Officer of the UK Garrison. This morning, Michael posted this to social media, his first post as new CO.

To my fellow UK Garrison members

I am incredibly honored and humbled to wake up this morning and learn that I have been elected as UK Garrison Commanding Officer.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who believed in me and entrusted me with this important role. Your support means the world to me, and I am committed to serving you and our Garrison to the best of my abilities.
I would also like to express my heartfelt appreciation to Gary and his team for their years of dedicated service to the Garrison and the Legion. Their hard work has laid a strong foundation, and I am eager to build upon it in the coming months.
To those who supported Gary, I hope to earn your trust and confidence as we embark on this new chapter together. My goal is to continue making the UK Garrison a beacon of excellence within the Legion.
I am excited to roll up my sleeves and get to work alongside all of you. Together, we will uphold our values and make a positive impact.
Thank you once again for this incredible opportunity. I am filled with gratitude, excitement, and determination as I step into the role of Garrison Commanding Officer. Let’s make great things happen together.

Congratulations Michael, and also to our good friend Gary Hailes – the 501st member to join the UKG back on 1st January 2008 – who completes a long shift as CO which has seen enormous changes to the Star Wars galaxy including the arrival of new movies and TV series (and three huge premieres for the sequel trilogy) as well as two Star Wars Celebrations in London in 2016 and 2023 and numerous conventions and events across the country. Gary has spearheaded them all along with his command crew, as well as most importantly helping to raise incredible amounts of money for charity, undisputedly proving that bad guys can do good.
