Warwick Davis has taken to twitter to highlight the platforms failure to deal with online abuse and trolls despite repeated notifications of the offending tweets.

The failure, and or slowness, of Twitter to respond to complaints and to deal with online abuse and harassment has been gaining media and political attention of late.  Davis showcased an example of the abuse he had received, and detailed how despite reporting it twice no action had been taken.

The more positive element of the Twitter community were quick to support Warwick, and even his fellow Star Wars alumni showed their support.  Mark Hamill tweeting the following:

Eventually Twitter took action, and locked the offending tweeters account

Social media can be a place of great good, as well as very sadly horrible examples of humankind.  We are glad that Warwick bringing awareness to this one issue he has faced has resulted in one less individual using the platform for ill intent.
