Hitting the stage during the D23’s Disney Experiences Showcase to reveal new additions to Fortnite, Dave Filoni also had the chance to reveal an adtition coming to Smugglers Run at Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland and Walt Disney World. To coincide with the arrival of The Mandalorian & Grogu in cinemas on 22nd May 2026, the popular Millennium Falcon ride will see the addition of Din Djarin and Din Grogu as they fly alongside the Falcon.

“The intersection of storytelling and innovation has always been central to Lucasfilm and we’re excited to see where this collaboration will take us next. Just imagine it: you’ll be able to fly alongside Mando and Grogu on thrilling, and dangerous, missions.”

The arrival of Mando and Grogu appears to indicate that the focus on the canonical aspects of Galaxy’s Edge are being relaxed, but to time this with the film landing in cinemas in May 2026 is clearly ‘good business’. Whether this is the start of a cross-park relaxation on the storylines of Galaxy’s Edge and a shift to a less story-led experience remains to be seen, but either way visitors and fans are in for one heck of a ride.
