Prepare to get hit in the feels by a New t-shirt honouring two characters Michael Sheard made infamous, Mr Bronson and Admiral Ozzel (as the designer points out, his character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was already somewhat infamous). Click here to order and show your Sheardy Love for a much-missed actor.

About 4 years ago I had this idea to celebrate some iconic pop culture icons of the eighties and the Aberdeen born actor who played them – the late Michael Sheard!

Michael was brought up in the cities Carlton Place and went Aberdeen Grammar in Rosemount.

For people of my age he played the terrifying Mr Bronson in the long running BBC TV show Grange Hill – I could talk a lot about that show!

And for others he will be remembered as Admiral Ozzel in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where he was force choked by Darth Vader.

He also starred in many other shows, films and plays including a certain mustachiod psycho in Indiana Jones – he actually played that psycho on 3 separate occasions! Decided that wouldn’t be a good look for this design thought….

I love thinking that I’ve walked the same streets as a wee Michael Sheard who would have been a young boy growing up here never realising he was going to appear in some of the biggest pop culture shows and films of a generation.

Michael passed away in 2005. Hopefully he can inspire some other young Aberdonians to pursue a career in the arts!

This design was brought to life by the talented Greg Millar. See his work here. : )

Tees are printed DTG (Direct to Garment) and are 100% Organic Cotton.
