Thursday 7th May saw Fantha Tracks head to Leicester Square in London to attend a very special UK Fan Event that not only brought the opening 20 minutes of The Mandalorian and Grogu to the IMAX screen at Cineworld, but also three stars of the film in Pedro Pascal, Sigourney Weaver and Grogu, along with writer and director Jon Favreau and producer Kathleen Kennedy to discuss the movie in a delightful Q&A.

After our respective trips up, down and across to the capital, and visits to Disney Store and Forbiddden Planet, we arrived in the square to meet up with fellow fans and friends, and Star Wars UK were also there to catch some magic moments.

The drone that was flying high over the event captured some incredible shots of the evenings activities.

Fantha Tracks were thrilled to have been invited to the event, joining our pals from the costuming community before we all headed into the fan area.

With a front row seat to all the action we made sure to snap as many pictures as we could in the fan area as the stars of the film walked by. Here we have Sigourney Weaver onstage.

The screening welcomed people into the cinema with a goody bag of popcorn, prints, an exclusive coin and – if you were lucky enough to grab one outside – an exclusive print, postcard and a blue macaron.

It wasn’t all influencers posing for their Instagram followers, the UK fan scene was well represented at the event. See who you can spot below.

After enjoying the first 20 minutes of the film we headed outside to not only grab a Mando themed burger, but also to record some audio for the next episode of Making Tracks with Matt (Fantha Tracks social media manager), Matt from Star Wars Sessions, Charlie from Imperial Senate Podcast, our Fantha Tracks variant expert Richard and Karen (the real star of the new LEGO Smart Play advert).

It was a fantastic night – essentially a premiere without the entire film – and a brilliant way to celebrate the fandom in the UK as well as giving us a tantalising look at what we can expect to see on 22nd May. Stay tuned for the return of Making Tracks Reaction Chat, where we’ll be digging deep into the film, as well as our Guide and Group Review, plus Brian and Paul reviewing the film on Good Morning Tatooine,
