Gareth Edwards on directing Thor 5: “I’m very excited at having another go at my own film”

Rolling off the creative smorgasboard that was The Creator, Gareth Edwards is likely eyeing up a relaxing Christmas and also keeping the other eye busy setting up his next project. That said, it would appear that a potential fifth Thor film isn’t in his line-of-sight right now, but instead he’s keen to follow up The Creator with another original project. Not that he’s anti-Marvel, far from it.

While anything by Gareth is well worth watching, and his take on a Marvel franchise movie would be well worth watching, he seems to be entered a phase of his career where he’s keen to very much steer his own ship, so the liklihood of a franchise entry from Gareth – be it Marvel, Star Wars or anything else – seems unlikely.

But we can hope.
