Back in 1983, a young Ke Huy Quan entered the global cinematic stage as the young sidekick in one of the biggest hits of 1984, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, followed swiftly in 1985 by the iconic Goonies, films directed and executive produced by Steven Spielberg. As history shows, his career failed to ignite as it should have, and Ke left the acting world. Not entirely; roles on TV show Head of the Class and a career as an Assistant fight choreographer and translator on Bryan Singers X-Men kept him in the world, as did various assistant director gigs, but 2021 saw Ke return to acting, first in family adventure Finding ʻOhana and then his Golden Globe winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once.
If proof were ever needd not to give up on your dreams, here’s a look at Ke’s recent, and very glorious, history. First, a clip of Ke working as an Assistant fight choreographer on X-Men.
