Look back over 50 years, to the stage of the London Palladium and a young Carrie Fisher appearing in her mother Debbie Reynolds cabaret show showing us and the world that here was someone destined to be a star, both here and far, far away.

In August 1974, Carrie Fisher was featured in her mother’s hit cabaret show at the London Palladium. Variety’s reviewer gushed: “The dramatic power and depth of her young pipes mark her as a strong bet in the immediate future. All-pro at 17 years of age, she appears to have all the ingredients for a powerhouse career.” This rarely seen clip is from that performance filmed by her brother Todd while he was backstage.
