After decades of wondering who the man behind the legendary Willrow Hood was, it appears that a Wookieepedia contributor has figured it out. According to Keelman2001 Willrow was played by actor and extra Egbert Sen, who emigrated to the UK from Pakistan in 1957 and appeared in some significant hit films including Raiders of the Lost Ark and Bond film Octopussy. Of course, we know him best for playing the galaxy’s most famous Bespin engineer and flavorologist (that’s ice cream taster to you and me).

Jedi Defender posted this, confirming this article and the identity of Egbert.

Sen passed away in 2019 age 87 after inspiring the most fun fan run of them all, the Running of the Hoods.

This engineer’s significance? His brief appearance was not brief enough to stop eagle-eyed Star Wars fans noticing that he appeared to be holding an Ice Cream Maker. This character was soon elevated among the ranks of the most beloved characters in the entire franchise, and is widely regarded as the very first Glup Shitto. He was identified in the Star Wars Customisable Card Game: Cloud City Limited, released in 1997, as Willrow Hood.
