Comic Book take a look at a panel from issue 61 of Marvel’s ongoing Star Wars title and specifically a panel which very clearly hints at a cool easter egg harkening back over 20 years to the era of Shadows of the Empire and the Star Wars Special Edition.

Serving as the final issue of the storyline, Luke, Leia, and Han escape the moon Hubin with Tula Markona, forcing a confrontation with the Empire. The outcome of this battle forces our heroes to procure ships from the Empire, with Tula and her crew hopping into what appears to be a YT-2400 light freighter, which fans might recognize as the ship Dash Rendar customized to create his Outrider.

The YT-2400 has appeared before outside of Shadows, most satisfyingly in the season three Star Wars Rebels episode Iron Squadron.

Interestingly, the Outrider was designed by Doug Chiang for the Special Editions and then used in Shadows of the Empire. Pablo Hidalgo explained that little known nugget during an episode of Rebels Recon. (with thanks to @StarWarsObscura on Twitter for the heads up)

Fingers crossed we see more elements of Shadows worked into the current canon era. Not all of them, just some of them.
