Maz Kanata as she could have appeared in The Force Awakens

In the half decade since the release of The Force Awakens, Maz Kanata has swiftly become a fixture of the galaxy, her familiar face appearing in all three adventures as a CG character, a hologram and an onset animatronic. Revealing an early concept of the character, concept artist Christian Alzmann shows us a version of Kanata that could have been.

As Alzman indicates, the version of Maz here doesn’t have her familiar goggles, instead opting for a different design around the eyes.
