Teachers! Need an excuse to don your Jedi Robes and bring your lightsaber into school? Well look no further than the new Health Initiative by NHS England’s Change 4 life and Train Like a Jedi.

Last month we reported about a new video featuring Olympian and gold medalist Jade Jones was available to encourage children to get fit and active by using the way of the Force.

This initiative is now available for schools and will be running for the rest of 2018.

Schools are being encouraged to sign up and register for resources and ideas. Ideas and resources available online now  for teachers and pupils to use include:

A whole school assembly Power point: to introduce the initiative to school

Resistance Hero Run:

An activity to encourage children, staff and parents to run for 15 minutes regularly to develop stamina!

Recruit a Padawan: To try and involve parents in their children’s learning pupils are encouraged to get their parents to take part!

Train Like a Jedi demonstration and performance: Whether it be in an assembly or informal on the playground children are encouraged to show their Jedi skills to their peers and parents!

Finally the ultimate Sports day! Including Hyperspace jump and Darkside Dodging, what better way to complete against each other !

More resources are due for release for schools including in July a Star Wars summer take-home pack, lesson starters, school council and club ideas to help you plan ahead for September.

Be sure your school does not miss out by signing up here for downloads and updates.
