While many of us will shake their heads in disbelief and others will claim forlornly ‘I used to have that figure when I was a kid!’, the plain facts are that vintage, mint-condition Star Wars figures can command a fortune, and the ongoing Hakes Auction is clear evidence of that as Zach Oat, Marketing Supervisor for Diamond Select Toys and Gentle Giant Ltd reveals.

Vintage Star Wars collectibles are always in demand, and interest only goes up with every successful new entry in the franchise. With much love for the Andor series on Disney+, now seems to be a great time to sell vintage Star Wars pieces, as evidenced by the current auction going on over at Hake’s.

One of the top earners in the ongoing auction (so far) is a Ben (Obi-Wan) Kenobi with Double-Telescoping Lightsaber, from 1978, AFA-graded 75. It’s currently sitting at a cool $34,100, with a couple of days left to go.

Other big-ticket Star Wars items in the auction:

Jawa with Vinyl Cape, from 1978, AFA-graded 80 – $14,000
Princess Leia sample, pink poncho on Snowtrooper card, from 1984, AFA-graded 60 – $12,100
Boba Fett on 21-back card, from 1979, AFA-graded 80 – $8,250
Power of the Force Anakin Skywalker, from 1985, AFA 75+ – $8,111
“Free Boba Fett” Store Display, from 1979, AFA-graded 90 – $6,500
Ben (Obi-Wan Kenobi on 12-back card, from 1978, AFA graded 85 – $4,070
Han Solo (Cloud City), from 1981, AFA Graded 70 – $3,666.30
Early Bird Certificate Package, from 1977, AFA-graded 80+ – $3,300
Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) on 12-Back card, from 1978, AFA-graded 85 – $3,300

The auction has a ton of others Star Wars figures, vehicles and video games, as well as some other pre-production pieces, including a first-shot Hoth Luke, a Revenge of the Jedi Leia proof card, a painted 12-inch IG-88 prototype, and a prototype-outfit 12-inch Han Solo.
