Arriving 30th April 2025, the one-shot Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III—The Battle of Eriadu sees the return to Star Wars comics of Nebula Award, World Fantasy Award, and Locus Award-winning writer Alyssa Wong, back for the first time since their very highly-regarded run on Doctor Aphra for Marvel, and Alyssa is clearly excited to fold in characters from their 2024 novel Escape From Valo, co-written with Daniel Jose Older.

“We met Driggit Parse and Gavi Takitaken in Escape From Valo, and followed their individual journeys across Dispatches from The Occlusion Zone #2, The High Republic Adventures, The High Republic Adventures Annual, and “Breaking the Mask,” a Star Wars Insider short story. The Battle of Eriadu one-shot draws all of these pieces together for the finale of their character arcs. This is a story about how much you’re willing to sacrifice for revenge… and what it means to let go of the ones you love.”

The Battle of Eriadu has become the boiling point in the fight between the Nihil marauders and the brave Jedi. On the front lines, two estranged friends find themselves on opposing sides of the battle. Jedi Padawan Gavi fights for light and life, while Driggit Parse sits at the right hand of the villainous Warden. When the two finally meet again after Driggit’s betrayal, the fight around them is an all-out assault; the stakes have never been higher. Can their old friendship be salvaged amidst the ashes of war?
