Lots of small nods appear in the police headquarters escape. To A New Hope we have the way Izara gets stunned by a blaster and how the door controls are blasted to keep it shut. Which is followed by a small nod to Return Of The Jedi with Two-Boots hotwiring it like Han did on Endor. This is then followed by the droid jumping down without a care in the world, just like how Anakin jumped down to catch Zam’s speeder in Attack Of The Clones.
The female police chief that arrives is identified in the end credits as Chief Klyce and was voiced by Keiko Agena. This character was also seen, and named, in Shadow Of Maul #01, the official tie-in comic that acts as a prequel to this series.
Also seen at the police station are holograms on a board with the various officers that have died. Fittingly, their holograms have ‘deceased’ in Aurebesh over it.
It appears that another well-known Italian dish made the jump to the Star Wars galaxy like previous episode’s chicken parmigiana: pizza, as evidenced by pizza boxes that can be seen in the Lawson kitchen.
We also get more information about Lawson’s son Rylee and wife Brea. They are divorced, or estranged, and his son plays some kind of new sport played with a big bat called botekin according to the official site. Rylee is voiced by Charlie Bushnell.
Rheena Sul is voiced by Pamela Adlon, who previously voiced the lurmen Elan and Ymojin in LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures.
She mentions Catalor, which is new and could very well be a new location where whatever happened what she refers to.
Across the planet Janix a lot of Aurebesh billboards can be seen. They read: “Boffo’s Blurrg Burgers”, “The Best Blurrger in Town,” “Coaxoline, The Finest Refined Hyperfuel in the Galaxy,”, “Blue Milk”, “Our flight powers your galaxy. Corellian Engineering Corp”, “Café 94” and “Ride the Perlemian. Coruscant to Quermia.”. This last one also features an image of an Sorosuub Luxury 3000 space yacht.
As Lawson leaves Sul and the shadow of Master Daki appears over him in the alley, a lonely horn can be heard in the soundtrack. This is a hallmark of film noir, which influences can be seen all over this series.
The end credits mentions an Officer Wade (voiced by Avery Kidd Waddell) and an Officer Reb (voiced by Sam Corlett), who was also in the first episode. It is a bit difficult to determine who is who as we have multiple officers speaking lines during the emergency on the walkway, with the officers assisting in evacuating the people to safety. Normally you could make an educated guess by going with order of appearance, but these cast lists are in alphabetical order by first name of the actor.
