As the press tour continues for The Rise of Skywalker, the cast and crew of the film are here, there and everywhere promoting the final entry in the Skywalker Saga, and while the focus is firmly on the 9th instalment inevitably talk will occasionally cast back to earlier films. Adam Driver described the nerve-wracking moment on The Force Awakens he filmed the death scene of Lor San Tekka, played by then 85 year old Max Von Sydow.

“My first thing I had to do was kill Max von Sydow. I have this long saber, and I can’t see where it’s going. So I didn’t want to, on my first day, just whack Max von Sydow. That would be the end of the movie, for me. I missed him — but it was total luck, because I was kind of swinging blind.”
