Ian Failes, author of the wonderful Industrial Light & Magic: 50 Years of Innovation brings us his latest podcast, a new series that will feature many of the subjects of his new book, continuing with the director of R&D at ILM, Rachel Rose.

I’m joined by Rachel Rose, Director of R&D at ILM. We discuss a number of innovations that Rachel was directly involved with at the studio. These include the development of virtual production and real-time tools, like StageCraft. Prior to that work, Rachel worked on the tools BlockParty 2 for rigging and Fez for facial animation. Rachel also offers some interesting views, I think, on where VFX art and tech is heading.
