Ian Failes, author of the wonderful Industrial Light & Magic: 50 Years of Innovation brings us his latest podcast, a new series that will feature many of the subjects of his new book, continuing with the Senior Vice President, Creative Innovation at Lucasfilm, Rob Bredow.

Rob has a long history in VFX, and started at ILM in 2014. In his role as CTO at ILM, he had a key part in shaping ILM’s technological developments, including with StageCraft. Rob was also the visual effects supervisor and a co-producer on Solo: A Star Wars Story, and there’s some fun stories he shares from that project. Other stories you’ll hear are about how some past ILM projects inspired Rob, such as Dragonheart, where he actually got to ask an artist at ILM years later how a water shader trick was done.
