Proving once again that he’s a man of class and distinction (like we didn’t know that already), George Lucas gave a very vocal seal of approval to 2016’s Rogue One when he called Tony Gilroy after the release of the smash-hit film, speaking for three-quarters of an hour and letting the Andor showrunner know just how highly he regarded the film.

Appearing on Deadline Behind the Lens with Pete Hammond, Gilroy discussed Lucas and much more in an interview taped before the recent writers strike.

“George Lucas called me after Rogue, I had a 45-minute conversation with him after he saw Rogue, and that’s the only time I’ve ever spoken to him. He loved it. He really did. He had a lot of things to say that I… It was like a call from the president.”
