Ben Mendelsohn on a Krennic return in Andor: “Have they shot it already?”

Not that he could say he’s in it even if he wanted to, Ben Mendelsohn was deliciously evasive when quizzed by Collider as he discussed his new Apple TV+ project The New Look. With the presense of the Director of Advanced Weapons Research for the Imperial Military a seemingly logical choice, the Secret Invasion star dodged the query with some style.

“Oh, in Andor? Yeah, I mean, maybe? Isn’t it coming to an end? I thought they had, like, five years left to go on that. Listen, I think Rogue One turned out fantastic. So, hold on. Have they shot it already?”

“Well, I mean, who knows in that case? Maybe they’ll just do a Krennic backstory, but they’ll have to shoot it quick or use a lot of CGI, you know? Krennic the Younger, or something, and then they’ll get someone cheaper to play it, I’m sure. I could be there as an advisor to help the younger actor out, and just go, “Mate… Mate. Mate!” You know?”

Liam Neeson made similarly evasive comments ahead of Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Mendelsohn himself made very clear his eagerness to return to the role back in 2019 when Andor was first announced, but whether or not he is in Andor or not, comment on our social media feeds and let us know if you’d welcome a Krennic return 9 years after we first saw him in Rogue One.
