While being a member of the British Stunt Register (the largest body of stunt performers in the UK) got him to the party that was Andor – and a scene featured in the season 2 trailer no less – stuntman and parkour expert Kurtis Torbett has made sure he has plenty of other options outside of the GFFA running PFT Academy, a school that teaches Parkour, Freerunning and Tricking. Kurtis was featured in the Basingstoke Gazette, a piece focusing on his work in and out of the Star Wars galaxy.

Kurtis Torbett, 31, from Rooksdown, has brought his spectacular stunts to life on screen in the recent Star Wars series, Andor, starring Diego Luna.

Mr Torbett, who is a member of the British Stunt Register, the largest body of stunt performers in the UK, found his love for parkour and freerunning by watching YouTube videos when he was younger and established his PFT Academy, now based in Grafton Way, in October 2021. Kurtis, a professional parkour athlete, has featured in major productions including Star Wars, Moblands, and Game of Thrones, has spent time performing and teaching around the world – from Butlins Tours in the UK to Honda Showcases in India.

Speaking about his time on screen, Kurtis said: “It was really cool, Star Wars was actually my first stunt job, I did wireworks in Andor.

“I did two pieces, I was pulled 20ft into the air on a wire through mortars firing at a ship and you can see it in the trailer.”

Here’s a look at his scene, from the opening of season 2.
