George Lucas meets Daft Punk co-founder Thomas Bagnalter

George Lucas recently met the co-founder of Daft Punk – Thomas Bangalter – in Paris at an event for the immersive installation La Caverne du Pont Neuf. The meet-up celebrated the final wrap-up of La Caverne du Pont Neuf, an underground Parisian art project led by Bangalter and French contemporary artist JR.

Artist JR The meeting was documented by artist JR, posted to social media with a caption thanking Lucas and saying, “Thank you for the Force George Lucas“.

Approaching sound like he would physical matter, Bangalter utilised analog modular synthesizers to mimic the acoustics of an imaginary cave in La Caverne du Pont Neuf. In past interviews, Bangalter had referred to himself and his musical peers as “the children of Kraftwerk and George Lucas,”  – “Kraftlucas”.
