The man who’s mind created the galaxy far, far away, the world of Indiana Jones, the dales of Willow and numerous other stories celebrates his 77th birthday today.

Born in Modesto, Califirnia on this day in 1944, George Lucas changed the world of cinema in numerous ways; onscreen in two of the most succesful movie series in film history and behind the scenes with Industrial Light and Magic and a swathe of other technical advancements.

Today, and hopefully for many years to come, we can say ‘thank you George’.
